Sanatorium Uzdrowiskowe WIKTOR CechiniSanatorium „Wiktor” Cechini is located in the Beskid Sądecki mountains on the forested slope of „Łopata Polska” surrounded by meanders of the Poprad river. Beskid Sądecki is a land of sunny meadows, expansive views, fast-flowing streams, and numerous mineral springs. The Poprad river and its gorge in the Żegiestów area are a unique phenomenon on a European scale. Flowing from the southern slopes of the Tatra mountains, it is the only river that, seemingly against nature, does not flow south to the Black Sea, but meanders its way to the Vistula river and further to the Baltic Sea. Poprad is a favorite river for anglers and mountain kayakers.
Sanatorium „Wiktor” has 136 places in comfortably equipped single and double rooms, as well as studio rooms. The facility has a full range of treatment facilities. We offer treatments in the field of hydrotherapy, balneotherapy, physiotherapy, inhalation therapy, and physical rehabilitation. The center is wheelchair accessible.
Next to the facility, there is a grassy field for volleyball, football, and handball, as well as a beautiful garden perfect for walks, and a parking lot in front of the facility. We specialize in the treatment of the following conditions: digestive system, respiratory system, urinary system, and rheumatic diseases.
We organize: 21-day sanatorium stays financed by the National Health Fund (NFZ) with a partial patient contribution, 28-day rehabilitation stays financed by the NFZ with a partial patient contribution, 14-day rehabilitation stays financed by the Social Welfare Center (PCPR) and the Social Welfare Office (MOPS) with a partial patient contribution, full-paying rehabilitation stays, family vacations, weekend stays, New Year’s stays, health colonies, and school trips.
Sanatorium „Wiktor” in Żegiestów, whose construction was completed at the end of 1936, was designed by Lviv architects Prof. Jan Bagieński and Zbigniew Wardzała. In an article published in „Architektura” in 1938, it was recognized that this particular building opened a new chapter in the development of health resorts, in which, according to the author, new architectural trends were more dominant and accentuated than in contemporary cities. It is worth taking a closer look at them, emerging from the healing mud.
The NZOZ Sanatorium „Wiktor” Cechini is located in a three-story building adapted for people with limited mobility, situated in the central part of the Poprad Landscape Park, on Łopata Polska. The sanatorium has 136 places in comfortably equipped single and double rooms, as well as studio rooms.
