Błatnia is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 917m above sea level in the Klimczok group in the Wiślańskie Range of the Silesian Beskids. On the nearby clearing, behind a narrow passage of forest, at an altitude of 891m above sea level, nestled in the western slope of the peak and surrounded by beech trees, is one of the most charming places in the entire Silesian Beskids – the PTTK Shelter on Błatnia.
The shelter was established in 1925-1926 at the initiative of the German Nature Friends Society „Naturfreunde”. The uniqueness of this place lies primarily in the unique views that can be seen from the shelter’s glassed dining room and from the summit, a 5-minute walk from the shelter, which offers a beautiful panorama of all the major peaks of the Silesian Beskids.
Currently, the shelter has 50 beds, a snack bar, a dining room, and a kitchen serving delicious homemade dishes. In the summer season, guests can also enjoy the summer garden, where grilled dishes are served. The shelter is constantly developing and engaging in new projects, establishing cooperation with numerous companies and organizations. It is a perfect place to spend free time, meet friends, or have a Sunday dinner. Moreover, the shelter organizes thematic, occasional, and team-building events, as well as conferences, school trips, and nature schools, making it an excellent base for organized groups. The possibility of organizing bonfires, sleigh rides, cross-country races, treasure hunts, and other attractions guarantee that a stay at the Shelter on Błatnia will be an unforgettable experience.
The friendly and family atmosphere, unique views, and great food make it so that once someone visits the Shelter on Błatnia, they will always come back.
Welcome!
